Here’s what happened in the Reproducible Builds effort between Sunday January 14 and Saturday January 20 2018:

Upcoming events

• On Jan 24th Chris Lamb will give a talk at the Linux.conf.au on our Diffoscope tool.

Packages reviewed and fixed, and bugs filed

• Adrian Bunk:
  • #887633 filed against xymon.
  • #887691 filed against ifd-gempc.
• Chris Lamb:
  • #887829 filed against mcl.
• Bernhard M. Wiedemann:
  • vit (merged, time)
  • cpython (replacing old .pyc mtime approach for python-3.7 - nearly accepted, needs testing)
  • cpython tarfile/zipfile (finally getting some love)

During reproducibility testing, 83 FTBFS bugs have been detected and reported by Adrian Bunk.

Reviews of unreproducible packages

56 package reviews have been added, 44 have been updated and 19 have been removed in this week, adding to our knowledge about identified issues.

diffoscope development

• Chris Lamb:
  • In the elf test, return 0 as the version if we can’t parse one

Furthermore Juliana Oliveira has been working on a separated branch on parallelizing diffoscope.

jenkins.debian.net development

• Alexander Couzens (reproducible LEDE):
  • Move the repository to git.openwrt.org
  • Fix escaping and most of the “shellshock” warnings
